Excellent local produce served in a relaxed setting
Our kitchen team create great tasting food that utilises the best of local produce from County Durham, Northumberland and Yorkshire and ingredients with excellent provenance from sources with high standards of animal welfare. It's about dishes that reflect seasonality and our stunning rural location using both classical and contemporary cooking techniques with an eye for detail.

or tempt the taste-buds as you explore our food and drinks pages.
Relax at a table in the charming bar, enjoy breakfast and dinner in the delightful oak-panelled restaurant and savour the fabulous food on offer.
Find stone flagged floors, old wooden beams, rural knick-knacks and a big open fireplace. You'll feel instantly at home with a drink in our bar.
Excellent food produced by head chef Dave Hunter, uses produce from our kitchen yard and just about everything else from local suppliers.
Some might call us a gastro pub, others may say a restaurant with rooms. Take a look at our menu and decide for yourself.
Our à la carte dinner menu is available in the bar and oak panelled room from 6pm-8.30pm daily.
On Sunday's we offer an à la carte menu including traditional roasts in the bar and the oak panelled room from 12pm-2.30pm.
We're lovers of all creatures great and small. Learn more about our approach to the environment and animals.
