Evenings

Our à la carte dinner menu is available in the bar and oak panelled room from 6pm-8.30pm daily.

  • Evening meals are by prior reservation*
  • Children are welcome (under 8's up until 8pm)
  • Dogs are welcome in the bar (on a lead)
  • We do not serve food outdoors on evenings

*We advise guests against turning up for an evening meal without a booking. Tables are allocated for the evening (we do not relay) and the kitchen freshly prepare food according to our business levels to avoid wastage. Just because we have an empty table it does not necessarily mean we can accommodate you. Even if it is just a few hours before-hand please call in advance to book before travelling. Thank you.

Our skilled team of chefs are headed up by Head Chef, Dave Hunter, who has a lifelong passion for cooking and in his career has worked at two Michelin stared level. The menu is a balance between hearty pub classic dishes and fine-dining plates of food that showcase fabulous ingredients and reflect the location of the Rose & Crown. Whether you are looking for a tasty main course and a pudding or a full three-course culinary delight, we aim to offer an excellent dining experience at one of the best restaurants County Durham. 

Dietary Requirements

We can cater for vegans by prior request but do not offer a vegan menu as such. For other dietary requirements please notify us in advance of your arrival to avoid any problems.
